School Of Software 2015 Meet and Greet
Ceremony for New International Students
In order to facilitate greater understanding between newinternational students and their supervisors, help international studentsintegrate more quickly into their new family, School of Software, and encouragethem to more diligently to pursue their studies. School of Software held its2015 Meet and Greet Ceremony for New International Students and the faculty onOctober 13, 2015. Dean Chen Zhigang, Vice Dean Zhao Ming, Associate Dean ShiLeihong, Software Engineering Department Chair Liao Zhifang, Oversea StudentsOfficer Yi Xi, some supervisors and officers attended the meeting. Vice DeanZhao presided over the meeting.
AssociateDean Zhao started by giving a heartfelt welcome, expressing his hope that thenew international students will feel at home at School of Software and then heintroduced the faculty. Dean Chen then gave an overview of the School’shistory, its organizational structure, and the accomplishments of its faculty.He also unveiled an independent laboratory constructed for internationalstudents, giving thm the opportunity to do more specialized research. At thesame time, international students can conduct research with their Chinese peersto strengthen their team spirit
Afterwards, Associate Dean Shi Leihong outlined the rules andregulations students must follow with primary responsibilities forinternational students. Associate Dean Shi shall pay attention to what they sayand how they behave and emphasized that every international student must bothstrictly adhere to Central South University’s policies and do their best todemonstrate the School of Software’s learning spirit. Finally, Department ChairLiao introduced the coursework that students will have to undertake andpresented students with a three-step strategy: manage time well, effectivelycomplete research reports, and successfully graduate.
After the meeting, the students and their supervisors mingled withone another. Through this Meet and Greet Ceremony, new international studentswalked away with a better understanding of the School’s graduate education, andwill strive to maintain a diligent attitude going forward in order to pass allthe requirements for graduation.
